| Hey Xanga friends! There has been a lot going on with me since I last wrote on here. My dear roomie (who I have known since 2001) moved to Wisconsin to start her new life with her fiance Keith. I miss her tons, but I know that she is happy living up there closer to him. It was really hard to leave her in the parking lot on the morning that she left. We were both crying in the parking lot of the Uhaul place at 6am!! Then I went back to our empty apartment and cried some more. It was like the episode of Friends where Rachel moves out of the apartment that she shared with Monica and Monica stood in Rachel's empty bedroom and cried...that is how I felt. I have been going, going, going since then. I had to finish packing up my stuff then on Saturday I had a bunch of friends from church come over early and help me load my stuff in a truck and then unload it in my new place. I moved in with my friend Jennifer. She lives in a 3 bedroom townhouse in Newnan, GA (which is about 30 minutes south of Atlanta), so I moved in to one of her bedrooms. It is going to be really nice to live closer to church and all of my friends. That is the biggest thing that has been going on with me. School starts in 2 weeks and I am making one last trip to Ohio this week before my summer is over. I am pretty excited to go back to work and get the new year started. It was a great year last year, so I am really looking forward to teaching 1st grade again. Well, I have to go do some work now before it gets too late, so this is it for me today! | | |
| Well, lots has happened since I last posted on here! My roomie is engaged! She is getting married in September and has asked me to be one of her bridesmaids, I am so excited! It is going to be a good time. We have been trying to get things packed up for our moving adventures-Christen is moving to Green Bay, Wisconsin and I am moving about 20 minutes down the road to Newnan, Georgia. I am going to be living with my friend Jennifer in her townhouse, it is going to be great and very cost effective! I am sad about leaving our apartment and having my roommate leave me, but it is going to be a good new chapter in my life. Also, school has finished for the year. I have had a great year teaching First Grade. I was not happy at the end of last year when my principal moved me, but it has been a great year and I am going to be teaching First Grade again next year. The only sad part about going back is that Christen won't be there and a lot of my other teacher friends are leaving me. Mark, the music teacher (who I carpooled with almost everyday), Becky, and Christen. It won't be the same without them, but it will be a good year. I also found out today that my brother got engaged! He has been in Mexico for the last year teaching High School History and he met his girlfriend there, she taught grade school. She went home to Texas halfway through the year to be with her mom who has cancer, and my brother stayed in Mexico. He came back to the states this past Sunday and has been spending the week in Texas with Kathryn and her family. He proposed to her sometime this week, so that will be one more wedding that I have to go to. Anyway, that is pretty much all that is going on here, I am just trying to pack and move and get ready for the weddings...I hope that you all have been doing well! | | |
| Well, I have had some free time this week since it has been spring break! I am moving this summer to the town where our church is and where most of my friends from church live, so I spent most of the time this week packing up some of my stuff that I don't need for the next few weeks. My roomie has been in Wisconsin getting engaged and stuff, so she is leaving me to get married and I am moving to an apartment all by myself. It should be a fun time. I am also thinking about getting my Masters degree from Cedarville this summer. It is a three summer program and I am going to be doing it with my brother, so that should be great. I am really nervous about making it all work with what little funds I have, but I know that my future is in God's hands and he will work it all out if this is what I am supposed to be doing. Things have been pretty crazy around here though...I feel like I am in high school again. You assume that things like relationships get easier as you get older, but they definitely do not. Things have been going on that make me want to shake my head and give up on finding someone. I know that God has a plan for me and a plan for my future husband, but it is hard to see when you are in the thick of it. Things do not get any easier when you are an adult, they just feel like you are in high school again. Oh well, there is nothing that I can do. Well, if you think about it my kids have to take the CRCT this week (Thursday and Friday) and then next week (Tuesday). It is a pretty important test and I am kind of nervous about it. It is a reflection on them as well as on me and how much I have prepared them for this test, so it is kind of nerve-wracking for all of us. Please just pray that they will not be nervous and that we can prepare these last few days before the test and that they all do well on it. Thank so much! I hope that you all have a great week! | | |
| Hey there Xanga world...my life has been crazy that I haven't had time to sit and write about what is going on in my life! Teaching so far this year has been great, my class is pretty good (for the most part) . I have been having a great time with the people from my church. I have been blessed this year to be introduced to some new friends and get to hang out with some old friends! It has been a great time. I am debating about what to do for next year. I really feel like God is telling me to stay here in Georgia, but there are some days that I miss Ohio! Christen may be moving out of the state and I need to find somewhere to live. I hope to find something in the near future so that I won't be stressed out about it as I am trying to finish up the school year. If you think about it please pray for me! I have a lot of decisions to make in the next couple of months. There is really nothing of great significance going on in my life at the moment besides the moving thing, so I am going to run and try to find something online! Have a good night everyone! | | |
| Hey all, I hope that you all are having a great week and had a good weekend! Christen's boyfriend Keith came to visit on Thursday of last week! Keith and I have been friends since college, so it was nice to see him. He got in on Thursday night and we all just hung around our house. Friday we went to work and Keith stayed here and hung around the house. That night we got to go to a Rascal Flatts concert...oh my word it was so great! I love Rascal Flatts so much and we had good seats and had just a great time. It was the first time that Christen and I got to ride the Marta, which is the Atlanta version of the NYC subway or the L in Chicago. It was interesting to say the least, it was really bad, just interesting. We rode it all the way from College Park (which is south of the city) all the to Phillips Arena (where the Hawks and the Thrashers play). The concert was at Phillips Arena, so it was really convenient. The concert itself was amazing and if any of you know anything about Rascal Flatts they have a newer song called He Ain't The Leavin Kind and it is about God and it is just an amazing song. It had me crying pretty much in the middle of the concert. They sang a lot of songs that most people who know anything about country music would know...like Bless the Broken Road, Me and My Gang, My Wish (which is my favorite song and I dedicated it to my brother and sister on my facebook), Fast Cars and Freedom, Here's To You (which they wrote for their fans) and the song that they sing in the movie Cars- Life is a Highway. It was amazing!! I didn't take my camera with me because we thought they wouldn't let us take them in and I wish they did because I could have gotten some really good pictures. Their opening act was Kellie Pickler and she was great too! All in all we had a really great time. After the concert Keith wanted to go to Waffle House (which people who live in Ohio will think that I am crazy because Waffle House is nasty in Ohio) and the ones in Georgia are alright...the food is good, so if you can get it to go, I would recommend it! Saturday I went school shopping with some money that my grandmother sent me and then Christen, Keith and I went out to eat at a really good Mexican Restaurant (it is no El Toro, but it is good). Sunday we went to church and then the work week started again. Keith left yesterday and the house is quieter without him...and I do miss hime! We had a good time and I know that Christen was so glad that he came to visit. This week is almost over thankfully and we get paid next week which is so great...I really hate getting paid only once a month...it is not fun! Anyway, I hope you all had a good week and a great weekend! Sorry this is so long! | | |
